Three day weekends are love. The laundry is done and I've been writing so all is well and content. It's overcast out but warmer than it has been all week. This is summer. I want sunshine and hot temps. Yeah, I may complain about the heat, but 65 on July 1 is not summer weather. 65 makes me think of fall and I don't want to think about fall weather for several months. I like fall but the downside is winter is on its heels. :(

I started to watch X-Files: I Want to Believe the other night and think I'm going to watch it in its entirety tonight. I updated my livejournal with X-File icons and may look around the communities more here. It's great to reacquaint myself with old fandoms and friends. :)

Doctor's bills are expensive.

My Howdunit books, set of three, arrived the last few days. I really liked the police procedure book but then the book of poisons arrived and wow. So many fun ways to be cruel to my characters. Unfortunately, since the direction of my story changed, I'm not sure there will be any poisoning. Maybe but not sure yet. I really wanted to insert a snakebite but that may have to wait. I have to finish this scene first and get my characters out of the gorram airport. *grins*

Time to write some more. Happy weekend.

The work week is over. Finally. It was another long one, but overall, not as bad as the last two weeks. This week was 5 days of morning Mondays and then the rest of the day after noon wasn’t so bad.

We have major storms headed our way. They've been coming out of Chicago and then building as they come in my direction. Wow. I think it's thundering, but not sure. It's definitely thundering. Here is comes. :)

I watched Pitch Black last night. At first, it was odd and reminded me so much like Aliens, but it grew on me. Vin Diesel plays a good badass. I was surprised at the speculation of the ending by fans.

Tonight, I want to write. At lunch, I drafted a scene that will be toward the end of the story. It was fun to write – now I just hope it sticks. :) I also should take care of some of my weekend chores since I won't be around this weekend much.

Tomorrow, my boyfriend and I are taking my parents out to eat and then maybe play some cards afterwards. The food is the best and the dessert comes with. Mmmm…probably chocolate mousse pie for me but I'm craving raspberries. Not the seeds in my teeth though.

While I'm there, I want to look for some patterns or material for some neat crafting projects I like to do. Once I figure out how to post images, I'll do that.

Sunday, I'll go spend the day at my parents and see what they need me to help with around the place.

Have a great weekend.
mbeancntr: (Summer - strawberries)
It has been raining nonstop since 6:00 this morning. What a gloomy, dreary day, but we should be thankful for the rain. It makes the grass green and the flowers grow and bloom pretty.

I've been in a really depressed mood most of the week. I'm not sure why, other than lots of worrying about those I love.

I'm meeting my mom for lunch to pickup some fresh strawberries from her garden. Mmmm. I love the taste of strawberries.

Work's been keeping me hopping and my writing has been advancing smoothly. I'm working on descriptions, connecting scenes, and making chapters. I worked on an info drop last night, but intend to separate that throughout the first few chapters so it's not an info drop per say. It was something I needed to do because I've neglected descriptions and backstories. As I was reading Crossfire, I came across a section, several chapters into the book, that used almost an entire chapter to flashback as to how the two main characters met, which overjoyed me since I had a scene with my characters started (and abandoned) when they first met. That's now been finalized and I'm happy with it so my next step, after the above additions, is picking up where I got sidetracked and continue my plot and subplots.

I'm going through a Vin Diesel stage right now, and have the first Fast & Furious from Netflix. Next will be Pitch. I saw the newest Fast & Furious in the theaters the other week and realized I had never seen its predecessors.

Cutest movie I've seen recently: Waitress with Kerri Russel and Nathan Fillion. I adore Nathan (Firefly and eventually I'll watch Castle) and I've always thought Kerri was cute, although I never watched much of Felicity - full time college and full time work made TV watching nonexistent.

The movie I've seen too many times the last few weeks: Gone in 60 Seconds. Thank you cable for running the marathon and melting my brain with action and beautiful cars.

True Blood season 2 starts Sunday. Yay! HBO's been running season 1 eps, so they've been owning my soul too.  I'm still catching up on Fringe.  Love that show.

Have a good Thursday.
